Prehnite is calcium alumosilicate occurring in low-temperature hydrothermal environments. In other words, Hot solutions met with Cooling magma! It has been said that it was the first mineral named for a person, Hendrick Von Prehn - he discovered the mineral in 1774 at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa.
