"Violet Heaven" Iolite Necklace

Violet blue sparkles from every bead in this enchanting necklace. Iolite looks similar to Tanzanite; however, it's a tougher gemstone. Today it is found in Sri Lanka, Burma, India, Madagascar, and Brazil.

3 mm. faceted Iolite beads
14k yellow Gold JBG clasp system (includes either "U" or "S" catch)
Approximately 18.5" total length

A "U" catch is used to suspend pendants; the "S" catch is used to wear the strand by itself. The second catch is sold separately.

Viking mariners used Iolite as the first polarizing lens, allowing them to determine the exact position of the sun.
